We received the Women’s Winter Box and as regular beach-goers were very pleased with the contents. Our box contained an Alternative Apparel sweatshirt, Pirette dry body oil, Salty Cali shell necklace, Corduroy California mug, 3-pack of assorted teas, Krochet Kids Intl. knit beanie, Richer Poorer socks, and an Aloha ‘Aina candle. The box was nicely packaged, making it a perfect option for a gift for the beach-goer in your life or a little self-love present. The items in the box were not only fun, but practical for the winter season and long days at the beach. We give it two shakas to the sky. Use code ASN20 for $20 off your first box.
Cutting small strips of washi tape and place them in a repeatable pattern, like plus signs or arrows, gives the effect of a wallpaper without the actual commitment.
Let washi tape help keep you organized — put it to work in on your calendar or day planner in the same way you’d use a highlighter! Many washi tapes are quite transparent, so you can use a little tag of tape to draw attention to important dates. Try putting down a piece of washi, then using a permanent pen to write on top of it. Your calendar is going to look gorgeous!
It brought tears to my eyes when I came across a necklace Dad had given me one year for Christmas. I actually wore this necklace more than anything else I’ve owned and I will forever cherish it.
The things people got stuck up their noses were a rubber band, a butterfly, paint, a vitamin, a cotton ball, and a tree nut.
To start, cut your scrapbooking paper to fit your lighter, and glue securely. Let dry. Next, add your accents. For our first lighter, we upped the glitz of the constellation design by adding rhinestones and pearls atop the paper’s stars. For our second, we overlaid the night sky background with a line of sticker trees to create a forest-scape, then pasted words cut from another sheet of scrapbooking paper on top of the trees. To finish, we coated both lighters thoroughly in Mod Podge to preserve their designs.
This all-in-one eyeshadow palette consists of 18 highly pigmented shades – from soft berry to dusty copper, flattering mattes and shimmer-drenched hues – and has everything she needs to transform her lids for the party season.
Dad, my older brother and I would select just the right cedar for our Christmas tree. After nailing a one-by-eight board on the bottom, we would place it at the special spot beside the piano. We made our own decorations, except for the 10 large red satin “apples” mother had carefully kept for many years. Our decorations were strips of red and green construction paper (we “borrowed” from school) cut into strips and taped together in alternate colors to make a chain. We popped popcorn and sewed them together with needle and thread; another chain. After wrapping these around the tree, Mom would carefully hang the satin apples, and then came the icicles, small strips of silver paper that was thrown all over the tree. Oh, it was beautiful!
Travis Ivey Washi tape may be all the rage for crafters, but artist Travis Ivey has a thing for utility tape, which he often uses to create colorful landscapes of urban and desert settings. See his take on downtown Phoenix, and Arizona’s natural wonders, in his solo exhibition at Shortcut Gallery. It’s an exhibition space shared by Phoenix General and Framed Ewe at The Colony, 5538 North Seventh Street. It’s on view from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 2.
“I love the chic simplicity of this yellow gold [necklace],” says Wilde over the phone from her home in Los Angeles, where she has spent the past year working on Booksmart, her directorial debut. “It’s made in L.A., and in addition to the fact that the materials are sound, there are no fillers—it’s just gold. Plus, they’re all about quality, transparency, simplicity, and trying to expose some of the wastefulness in the traditional [jewelry] industry.”
You’ve still got time to get creative with items around your house and get those gifts festively wrapped.
